India Post Mobile Banking App
enables Postal Savings Bank customers to operate all types of Savings and Fixed
deposit accounts held by them at any Post office in India. All POSB customers who have activated their
Net Banking account can access their accounts through the Mobile App. Apart from Savings Bank Account, it also
provides access to other categories of accounts such as RD, TD, PPF, SCSS and NSC. Deposit to RD and PPF
accounts, opening of RD, TD accounts, PLI/RPLI premia payments, New ATM Card
request, ATM PIN change request, fund transfer between POSB accounts and
between POSB and Bank accounts. More
features are expected to be included in the APP and the Department of Posts is
working on it.
Eligibility Criteria
The customers must meet the following criteria to avail the mobile
banking facility::
- The customers must hold PO savings
account in CBS post office.
- The customers must have a valid
login id and transaction credentials for the Internet banking Process. Net
banking can be enabled at the Post office where the a/c stands by
submitting an application.
- The customers who hold either single
or joint ‘B’ account type are eligible.
- The joint ‘A’ account holders,
minor, Illiterate, branch office accounts are not eligible.
- The customer should have
a valid email address, Aadhar, PAN card and a registered mobile number.
Features
Following are the features of India Post Mobile Banking App.
- A
mini statement of all categories of accounts can be viewed.
- The
users can check for the balance of savings account, Recurring Deposit
(RD), Public
Provident Fund (PPF) and other accounts with the complete
details of transactions.
- The
users can transfer funds to other users’ PO savings or bank account using
IFSC code. Beneficiaries can be added.
- The
users can also transfer fund from savings accounts to own linked PPF
accounts.
- The
users can repay Loan taken from RD accounts.
- The
service request for opening the RD account and stop cheque request can
also be raised through this app.
Activation Procedure
1: After enabling mobile banking facility by submitting an application at the Post office, the user has to install the mobile banking app from the Google Play Store
2: Install the Mobile Banking app and click on the “Activate Mobile Banking” button.
3: The user will have to enter all the security credentials that they have registered with the Department of Post.
4: Now the user will receive an OTP to their registered mobile number.
5: Once OTP is validated, then set a four-digit MPIN for the future logins.
6: Enter the Username and MPIN to login to the App.
7: Now the user can check their Savings account, PPF, Recurring Deposit and fixed deposit accounts including NSC and view their balances/transaction details. The transfer of funds to other PO savings accounts and bank accounts can be made through this mobile app
8: The users can access the service request option to open the Post office RD and TD accounts
9: The Users can make payment of PLI and RPLI Insurance premia through mobile app
