5. What is my customer ID? |

8. Why should I configure Security question and answers during first time login? |
Security question and answers are required to use when you forget your Login or transaction passwords or both. |
9. Whether both login and transactions password can be same? |
No, it cannot be same. |
10. What is the permissible limit for wrong login/transaction password attempts? |
5 times. |
11. What if I type my login password or transaction password wrong for 5 times? |
In case login password is entered wrongly for 5 times, user id will be disabled from logging in. In case transaction password is entered wrongly for 5 times, transactions rights will be disabled |
12. What is the procedure to get my login rights or transaction rights enabled? |

13. What if I forgot my password? |

14. Whether my user ID can be changed? |
Yes, the user ID can be changed only once under My profile > Update channel login ID. |

16. Can I transfer funds and make deposits? |
- Funds can be transferred from one POSB account to another POSB account either self-payee or third-party payee. Funds can also be transferred to other bank accounts. |
- Deposits can be made from your SB account to your own RD account, Repayment of RD Withdrawal, PPF account, Loan on PPF. |
17. What if my any of Post office accounts are not visible in my login? |
Please visit the home branch PO of that account to change the customer ID/CIF ID with the eBanking registered CIF/Customer ID. |
18. Can I open any account through internet banking? |
Yes, you can open all types of POSB accounts. |
19. Can I close any accounts online? |
Yes, The facility for online closure of accounts of all POSB schemes is available. |
20. Can I register a stop cheque request? |
Yes, under General Services > Service request > New request. |
21. Can I change my login or transaction password? |
Yes, it can be changed under My Profile > Change Passwords. |
22. Can I schedule a fund transfer for future date? |
Yes, you can do fund transfer only once by selecting frequency type "Single" and multiple times by selecting frequency type as "Recurring". |
23. Can I take PPF withdrawal online? |
Yes, can be availed for eligible amount. |
24. Can I take RD half/partial withdrawal online? |
No, can be availed for eligible amount/period at home branch PO. |
25. How can I disable my DOP Internet Banking? |

MAHILA SAMMAN SAVINGS SCHEME (MSSC):
1. What is the Rule that governs MSSC and when was it introduced.
The Ministry of Finance (DEA) has issued notification G.S.R.237(E) dated 31.03.2023 in connection with introduction of new scheme ‘Mahila Samman Savings Certificate, 2023”.
2. What are the types of accounts that can be opened under MSSC?
(i) Account under this scheme can be opened for an individual girl or woman in whose name the account is held.
(ii) On an application to the post office in prescribed form, a Single Holder Type Account may be opened on or before 31.03.2025 by a woman for herself, or by the guardian on behalf of a minor girl.
3. What are the Minimum and Maximum deposits prescribed for MSSC?
(i) A minimum of one thousand rupees and any sum in multiples of one hundred rupees may be deposited in an account. Thereafter, no subsequent deposit shall be allowed in the account.
(ii) There shall be a maximum limit for deposit of Rs. Two lakh in an account or in all accounts under this scheme held by an account holder.
(iii) An individual may open any number of accounts in the scheme subject to the maximum limit for deposit Rs. 2 Lakh and a time gap of three months between the existing account and the opening of another account.
4. What is the rate of interest and how it is calculated?
(i) The rate of interest applicable to the deposits under this scheme is 7.5 per cent per annum. The interest shall be compounded on quarterly basis and credited to the account.
(ii) Post Office Savings Account interest shall be payable on an account opened or maintained, in contravention of this scheme.
5. Whether this scheme available through agents ?

6. Whether investment under the scheme qualifies for a rebate u/s 80C of Income Tax Act ?
NO
7. Whether interest earned in the scheme has tax exemption ?
NO
8. Whether the maximum limit for investment of 2 lakh is separate in case of minor ?
Maximum limit prescribed in Rule 4('l) of Mahila Samman Savings Certificate, 2023 is for an Individual. As such minor limit is separate and investment upto - 2lakh can be made in the name of minor girl child.
9. Whether account can be opened through POSB net banking?
At present opening of new accounts under the Scheme has been discontinued.
10. Whether Nomination facility available?
Yes. Nomination available in the linked Savings Account will be registered as Nominee
11. What is the mode of deposit?
Deposits can be made through net banking or by presenting Account Opening form along with Bank Cheque. At the GDS Branch Post Offices, Account can be opened in Branch Post offices through cheque or withdrawal form (SB-7) as per the procedure prescribed vide SB Order No. 22/2020 and SB Order No. 32/2020.
