LOCK UP PERIOD IN VARIOUS POSB SCHEMES




     Before making an investment in any type of Fixed deposit or Savings Scheme in Post offices, Nationalised banks or other financial institutions, you should look for the lock up period, if any, prescribed for the schemes and the penalty or deduction in maturity value or interest rate due to the premature closure of the accounts opened under the schemes either before the lockup period or after the lockup period but before the maturity date

In Post office small savings schemes, lockup period is prescribed for certain Schemes,  deductions are imposed if the accounts under the schemes are prematurely closed
